Bahrain’s courts will shift several criminal and civil chamber sittings to fixed morning schedules starting Monday, 4 May, in a move aimed at improving clarity for lawyers, litigants, and the public.

The decision, issued under Decision No. 4 of 2026 by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, introduces unified sitting times across selected courts following a review by the Supreme Judicial Council.

Under the new schedule, some criminal chambers will sit at 9am, others at 11am, while higher criminal chambers will begin at noon.

The change takes effect from Monday, 4 May 2026.
