Civil Defence, Security, and Healthcare Systems Fully Operational Amid Aggression

The National Communication Centre (NCC) is issuing this media briefing to keep citizens and residents informed of the latest developments linked to the disgraceful Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain. We stress that the Kingdom’s military and security bodies continue to carry out their duties around the clock as part of an integrated defence system.

According to updated figures released by the Bahrain Defence Force, a total of 124 missiles and 203 drones that attempted to target Bahrain’s airspace have been intercepted and destroyed since these attacks began. In the past few hours, nine missiles and 12 drones have been destroyed.

To speak about the latest security developments, we now welcome Captain Abdulla Waheed Al Manaei from the Ministry of Interior.

Captain Abdulla Al Mannai of the Ministry of Interior said:

‘Citizens and residents, peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings.

As part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to preserve the security of the homeland and protect public safety, His Excellency Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, visited the General Directorate of Civil Defence to review operational readiness and security preparedness in dealing with the effects of the blatant Iranian aggression.

During the visit, His Excellency expressed his strong condemnation and full denunciation of this brutal aggression. He also conveyed to Civil Defence personnel the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, as part of the General Directorate of Traffic’s work to uphold road safety during the conditions created by the disgraceful Iranian aggression, the directorate has taken the necessary legal steps against 45 drivers for making loud noises from their vehicles, causing alarm among citizens and residents and disturbing public order.

We also note that the warning siren or wireless alert system in emergency cases is activated when a threat directed at targets within the Kingdom of Bahrain is detected. It is not activated when there is no threat within the Kingdom’s regional scope.

May God protect the Kingdom of Bahrain. May God protect His Majesty the King. May God protect His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. May God protect all citizens and residents.

May you remain in God’s care. Peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings.’

To speak about the readiness of primary healthcare centres and the continued delivery of services across the Kingdom, we are pleased to welcome Dr Haifa Ahmed Al Jassim, Chief of Medical service at Primary Healthcare Centres, to brief us on the latest developments in this matter.

Dr Haifa Al Jassim said:

‘Peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings.

In light of the disgraceful Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain and the current regional developments, Primary Healthcare Centres confirm that their health services are continuing at full readiness.

Twenty-seven health centres are operating across the Kingdom of Bahrain, including nine centres that are open around the clock to ensure that citizens and residents can receive medical care when needed.

All health services remain available as usual at the health centres, including medical consultations, follow-up care for chronic illnesses, maternity and child services, vaccination programmes and the dispensing of medicines, in addition to urgent care services.

Remote medical consultation services are also available to make it easier for patients to receive medical advice without needing to attend the health centre in person.

Health emergency plans have been activated and the level of readiness among medical and nursing staff has been raised, alongside the strengthening of medicine stocks and medical supplies to ensure that services continue without interruption.

The health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain operates within an integrated national system that includes the Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services, government hospitals, Primary Healthcare Centres and the National Ambulance Centre, ensuring a rapid response and joined-up health services.

To book appointments or enquire about health services, you can call the hotline on 8000 7000 or use the Sehati application.
