UAE Condemns Targeting of its Consulate in Erbil

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the "treacherous" drone attack that targeted its Consulate General in Iraqi Kurdistan for the second time in a week. According to a statement released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, the strike resulted in injuries to two security personnel and caused physical damage to the consulate building.
While the Ministry did not specify exactly when the incident occurred, it stressed that targeting diplomatic missions is a flagrant violation of international law and the Vienna Convention.
The UAE has called upon the governments of the Republic of Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan to investigate the circumstances of the attack, identify those responsible, and hold the perpetrators accountable. The statement further emphasized that such attacks represent a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.
