From First Siren to Ongoing Interceptions:14 Days of Continuous Defense Operations Across the Kingdom

Bahrain’s security and defense authorities continue to respond to successive developments following a series of attacks that began on 28 February 2026. The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) confirmed that air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 124 missiles and 203 drones launched toward the Kingdom since the start of the incidents.

28 February 2026

At 11:51 a.m., the first hazard siren was activated, urging citizens and residents to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe location. The Ministry of Interior (MOI) began evacuations in the Juffair area, calling for public cooperation. Several residential buildings in Manama were targeted, and Civil Defence teams carried out firefighting and rescue operations.

1 March 2026

The Crown Plaza Hotel in Manama was targeted, resulting in material damage with no casualties reported.
In a separate incident, debris from an intercepted missile caused a fire on a foreign vessel near Mina Salman and in Salman Industrial City. The fire led to the death of an Asian worker and serious injuries to two others. Authorities later brought the fire under control. Civil Defence also responded to incidents involving maritime and industrial facilities.

2–4 March 2026

The Anti-Cybercrime Directorate arrested an individual for filming and publishing fabricated content related to the attacks, in violation of the law. Traffic authorities also detained a driver and impounded his vehicle for 60 days due to dangerous violations and public disturbance.

5 March 2026

A facility in Ma’ameer was targeted. Civil Defence contained the resulting fire. Limited material damage was reported, with no loss of life.

6 March 2026

Two hotels and a residential building in Manama were targeted, causing material damage but no fatalities. Civil Defence extinguished a fire in one of the affected flats.

7 March 2026

A house and nearby buildings in Manama sustained damage after an attack caused a fire. Emergency teams responded promptly.

8 March 2026

Missile fragments falling on a public road in Manama caused injuries to one person and damage to several shops. Authorities secured and evacuated the area.
On the same day, additional incidents included:

A fire near Mina Salman was controlled by Civil Defence.

Three injuries and damage to a university building in Muharraq due to falling missile debris.

Damage to a water desalination plant following a drone attack.

9 March 2026

The MOI reported injuries, including one serious case, after a drone attack damaged several homes in Sitra. Civil Defence confirmed that a fire in Ma’ameer was brought under control, with no injuries reported.

10 March 2026

Authorities confirmed that a residential building in Manama was targeted, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old Bahraini woman and injuries to eight others.

12 March 2026

Fuel tanks at a facility in Muharraq Governorate were targeted. Competent authorities initiated the required safety and response procedures.

Ongoing Air Defense Operations

The BDF stated that air defense units remain actively engaged in countering successive waves of attacks, continuing interception operations to safeguard citizens, residents, and infrastructure across the Kingdom.
