Dr. Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajri, preacher at Sheikh Isa Mosque in Riffa, highlighted the virtue and importance of those stationed on the frontlines and borders, praising their vital role in protecting nations and safeguarding the security of societies amid the challenges and attacks currently facing the region.
During his Friday sermon, Sheikh Al-Hajri stressed that one of the greatest pillars of security in any society is the presence of dedicated individuals who devote themselves to defending their homeland.
He said that at a time when Muslim countries and the region face unrest and aggression, there are noble individuals who sacrifice their comfort to ensure the safety of others.
“They stay awake so we can sleep, endure hardship so we may live in comfort, and remain away from their families so that we may be with ours,” he said.
Sheikh Al-Hajri explained that safeguarding the nation is not limited to military service alone, but also extends to many other fields that contribute to protecting the country and maintaining social stability.
He noted that those defending the nation may serve in military institutions as well as in civilian sectors that protect political, social, media, cyber, community, and policing security.
The preacher also referred to teachings from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that highlight the virtue of those who stand guard in the service of God, emphasizing the importance of dedication and sincerity in fulfilling one’s duty.
He added that religious teachings praise those who remain steadfast in their assigned roles and continue to carry out their responsibilities faithfully.
Sheikh Al-Hajri further pointed out that guarding and protecting the nation, even for a short period, holds great spiritual reward, underscoring the high value placed on those who dedicate themselves to safeguarding their communities.
He concluded by noting that those who serve in such roles continue to be rewarded for their dedication, highlighting the enduring spiritual significance of protecting the homeland and ensuring the safety of society.
