Delayed wage payments by certain companies will come under direct examination during the Nineteenth Ordinary Session of the Fourth Annual meeting of the Sixth Legislative Chapter, as MPs press the Ministry of Labour for clarification on enforcement measures and compliance oversight.

Accountability

MP Hesham Abdulaziz Al Awadhi has submitted a parliamentary question addressing the continued delay in salary disbursement by some firms. The inquiry seeks a clear position from the ministry regarding monitoring mechanisms, penalties imposed on non compliant employers and the effectiveness of existing labour safeguards.

The question reflects growing concern over repeated complaints from employees who face financial strain when wages are not paid on time. MPs are expected to request detailed data on inspection campaigns, reported violations and corrective measures undertaken against offending entities.

Protection

Labour rights remain a sensitive pillar of economic stability. Lawmakers are likely to emphasise that timely salary payment is not a discretionary matter but a statutory obligation that directly affects household security and market confidence.
