At 4.20am, two cars sat in an emergency lane with a tyre problem. Prosecutors say a man in his thirties then drove into them, killing one person and injuring three.
The High Criminal Court will rule on 17 March.
The Public Prosecution says the defendant caused the death by mistake and harmed the bodily safety of three others after failing to take proper care behind the wheel, crossing the yellow line and entering the emergency lane in an unsafe way.
He also faces accusations of damaging public and private property and putting road users, including pedestrians, in danger through unsafe driving, including sudden swerving and repeated lane changes.
The court heard that a vehicle had stopped in the emergency lane after one of its tyres failed.
A second car then pulled up in front in the same lane to help, with four passengers inside.
