King Hamad Receives Speaker of Azerbaijan’s National Assembly

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, praised the close bilateral relations and historic ties of friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasizing the continued commitment to enhancing and developing cooperation across all fields.

The remarks came during a reception at Al-Qudaibiya Palace today, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. His Majesty welcomed Her Excellency Dr. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s National Assembly, who is visiting Bahrain to participate in the 16th General Assembly session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly hosted by the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Dr. Gafarova conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, extending his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity to the people of Bahrain.

His Majesty warmly received the Speaker, reciprocating the greetings and conveying his best wishes to President Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people, praising the President’s efforts to strengthen the strong ties between the two countries.

King Hamad highlighted the significance of such visits in promoting and expanding cooperation between the legislative authorities of both nations, and in sharing legislative experiences and expertise to serve shared goals and aspirations. His Majesty also commended the achievements of Bahrain’s legislative authority in contributing to the Kingdom’s development and the welfare of its people.

For her part, Dr. Gafarova expressed sincere gratitude to His Majesty for the warm reception and generous hospitality, appreciating Bahrain’s role in nurturing growing cooperation and fruitful relations between the two nations for the benefit of their peoples.
