Bahrain and Bosnia Discuss Regional Developments and Gaza Situation

Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held official talks today at the ministry with Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the latter’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

At the start of the meeting, Dr. Al Zayani welcomed Minister Konaković and his accompanying delegation. He praised the strong friendship between the two countries and their peoples, and highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors in line with shared interests.

The Bahraini Foreign Minister expressed confidence that the visit would give new momentum to bilateral relations and help identify opportunities to expand cooperation in economic, trade, investment and social fields. He noted that this could be achieved through signing agreements and memoranda of understanding that serve the interests of both countries.

For his part, Minister Konaković said he was pleased to visit Bahrain and thanked the Kingdom for the warm welcome and hospitality. He commended the level of cooperation between the two countries and reaffirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s desire to further develop bilateral ties to broader and more comprehensive levels.

The talks reviewed the current state of political, economic, trade and social cooperation, and discussed ways to open wider horizons for joint work, including boosting trade exchange and enhancing cooperation in tourism, culture, health and other sectors.

Both sides also discussed regional and international developments, with a focus on regional conflicts and their impact on security and stability. Particular attention was given to the situation in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians, and moving forward with the second phase of the peace plan announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Following the meeting, Minister Konaković visited the Al-Madar Center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was briefed on its role in monitoring regional and global developments and preparing political reports and analyses.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (based in Moscow); Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations; Ali Khalid Al Arifi, Head of the Al-Madar Center; and Shaikha Al Anood bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Acting Head of the European Affairs Sector.
