His Excellency Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, underscored the deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and Kuwait.
He praised sustained joint efforts to enhance cooperation and integration, particularly in the field of security, during high-level meetings held in Kuwait yesterday.
H.E. Shaikh Rashid and the accompanying delegation were received yesterday by His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, at Bayan Palace General.
Commitment
The visit, the Minister said, reflects the shared commitment of both countries to safeguarding regional security and reinforcing Gulf unity.
During talks with HH Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad and senior Kuwaiti officials, H.E. Gen. Shaikh Rashid emphasised that the relationship between the two countries goes beyond formal diplomacy.
“Bahrain takes pride in the longstanding and firmly rooted relations that unite the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait across various fields,” he said.
He reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support for Kuwait, adding: “The Kingdom stands by Kuwait — its leadership and its people — in all that preserves its security, stability and sovereignty, within the framework of maintaining Gulf unity and strengthening GCC solidarity.”
The Interior Minister also held discussions with Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, focusing on expanding security coordination and operational integration.
Highlighting the progress already achieved, H.E. Gen. Shaikh Rashid noted: “We are proud of the advanced level of security cooperation and coordination reached between our two countries, which stems from the depth of our historical ties and the shared vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait.”
He added that both sides view the partnership as a foundation for addressing evolving security challenges in the region.
H.E. Gen. Shaikh Rashid said Bahrain aspires to further strengthen cooperation through the exchange of expertise, joint training, operational capacity-building and security exercises.
“There is a clear aspiration to activate the work of the Joint Security Committee and to further develop the memorandum of understanding between our two interior ministries,” he said.
The Interior Minister also expressed confidence that the visit would mark “an exceptional and constructive step in the course of security cooperation and coordination.”
