Bahrain Supports Peaceful Political Solution in Venezuela

The Kingdom of Bahrain has reaffirmed its support for regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful and sustainable political solution in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Bahrain stressed the importance of regional cooperation and respect for national sovereignty to ensure security and stability, avoid conflict and division, protect social peace, and contribute to regional and international peace and security.

The statement was delivered by Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaieh, Permanent Representative of Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations, during an emergency briefing of the UN Security Council on developments in Venezuela, held under the agenda item “Threats to International Peace and Security.”

The ambassador welcomed the UN Secretary-General’s emphasis on upholding the principles of the UN Charter and expressed Bahrain’s support for his call on all parties in Venezuela to engage in inclusive dialogue. Bahrain highlighted the need to respect international law to reduce tensions, maintain regional stability, and prevent negative repercussions that could affect the region’s security.

Bahrain also reiterated its backing for regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and strengthen diplomatic pathways. The ambassador underlined the importance of enhanced international cooperation to combat organized crime and drug trafficking, noting their harmful impact on societies and sustainable development, and called for addressing these challenges in line with relevant international agreements.
