‘Forever role model of sacrifice, selflessness’

His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended an event to mark the Commemoration Day at the Special Security Force headquarters.

Upon the arrival of H.E. the Interior Minister, accompanied by the Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, the annual event began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

Afterwards, H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah and senior officers performed a salute to the martyrs, and then the police band played the “Martyr’s Call”.

After reciting the prayer for the martyrs, he proceeded to the memorial to recite “Surah Al-Fatiha” for the souls of the martyrs.

Tribute

The Interior Minister paid tribute to the martyrs of duty for their noble and ultimate sacrifices for the nation, which remain a guiding light on the path to the future.

He expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for his gracious gesture in designating December 17 as the Accession Day and the Commemoration Day.

Pride

H.E. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah emphasised that on this special occasion, all should remember with pride the martyrs of duty.

He said that they are the heroes of security, a source of loyalty and devotion, and they are forever the role model of sacrifice and selflessness.

“We pray for God’s mercy upon them and offer our deepest gratitude and appreciation to their families,” the Minister said.
