The Ministry of Interior has announced that the Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate, under the General Directorate for Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security, has initiated legal proceedings against nine social media accounts after monitoring content that violated Bahraini law.
According to the Directorate, the accounts were found to be sharing material aimed at inciting discord and hatred among citizens, posing a threat to civil peace. Authorities emphasised that such behaviour is strictly prohibited and falls under legal scrutiny.
Officials further warned that individuals who repost or endorse content promoting sedition—including through approving comments—may also face legal consequences.
The Directorate highlighted the importance of responsible digital conduct and urged the public to use social media platforms in a manner that promotes awareness, preserves social harmony, and reflects the values and traditions of Bahraini society.
