Manama: A café worker confessed to throwing hot water at his colleague, a 20-year-old Asian woman, during a dispute over a delivery order, leaving her with severe burns. He made the confession on Sunday before the First High Criminal Court, which decided to postpone the hearing of the case until November 30 for review, with the accused remaining in custody pending the case. The incident stemmed from a dispute over a delivery order between the defendant and the victim. According to reports, the altercation escalated and the defendant physically assaulted the victim, knocking her to the ground. The delivery staff intervened to separate the pair, but the defendant allegedly waited until the victim turned around and then threw scorching hot water at her. According to the victim, the accused also chased her to the street and hit her on the head with a water heater. The victim suffered injuries and 5% permanent disability as estimated by medical committees and the defendant was subsequently reported to the authorities. The case is now under investigation with the accused facing charges of assault and battery. The incident has sparked concern among colleagues and patrons, highlighting the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
