Bollywood Veteran Dharmendra Passes Away at 89

Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has passed away at the age of 89 in Mumbai. The legendary actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Chupke Chupke, had been unwell for some time and was hospitalised earlier this month. He was discharged on November 12 and was recovering at home.

He was affectionately known as the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood. Some notable films in his extensive filmography include Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960), Satyakam (1969), Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971), Pratiggya (1975), Dharam Veer (1977), Alibaba Aur 40 Chor (1980), Ghulami (1985), Tahalka (1992), and Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011). In 2023, he was seen in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, directed by Karan Johar.

His last film, now a posthumous release, will be Sriram Raghavan's 'Ikkis' also starring Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is scheduled for a release on December 25, 2025.
