New Initiative to Support Students in English Proficiency
The Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British Council to strengthen cooperation in English language learning and support public school students by facilitating access to the international IELTS exam. The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma’a, Minister of Education, H.E. Mr. Alistair Long, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and senior officials from both the Ministry and the Council.
The MoU was signed by Ms. Nawal Ibrahim Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, and Ms. Kate Ewart-Biggs, Deputy Chief Executive of the British Council.
On the occasion, H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma’a expressed his gratitude to the British Council for its fruitful collaboration with the Ministry. He highlighted the importance of the MoU, which provides graduating high school students with enhanced opportunities to join higher education institutions both within Bahrain and abroad, while also opening new avenues for ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the British Council.
