During the summit, Dr. bin Daina underscored the urgency of advancing priority measures to address climate change. The discussions focused on key themes such as forests, oceans, and clean energy transitions—highlighting the essential role of tropical forests and marine ecosystems in maintaining global environmental balance. His Excellency commended Brazil’s leadership in hosting the conference, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration to protect vital ecosystems, particularly the Amazon rainforest and the world’s oceans.

In his interventions, Dr. bin Daina reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to the Paris Agreement goals and to supporting global initiatives aimed at securing a sustainable future for coming generations.

The Leaders’ Summit served as a high-level preparatory meeting for COP30, bringing together heads of state and international leaders to spotlight the critical role of forests and biodiversity in the global climate agenda.

The discussions revolved around three key priorities: raising climate ambition to meet the 1.5°C target, mobilizing climate finance for adaptation and just energy transition in developing nations, and promoting multi-level governance to ensure active participation of all government levels in implementing effective climate action.
