Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, H.E. Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom of Bahrain remains committed to supporting national talent across all sectors—especially the engineering field—recognizing its vital role in advancing comprehensive development, infrastructure, and innovation in national projects.

The minister highlighted that the celebration of Bahraini Engineers Day reflects the pivotal contribution of Bahraini engineers to the Kingdom’s urban, economic, and developmental progress. He praised the efficiency and dedication of Bahraini engineers—both men and women—whose efforts have been instrumental in executing major national projects.

Eng. Al Mubarak noted that this occasion underscores the importance of engineering work in shaping modern cities and enhancing community life. Over the decades, Bahrain has achieved remarkable engineering milestones across infrastructure, roads, housing, water networks, sustainable urban development, and smart agricultural projects.

He further explained that this year’s theme, “With Our Bahraini Identity, We Build the Cities of the Future,” authentically reflects the national vision of harmonizing Bahrain’s rich heritage with modern development needs. The ministry, he said, strives to embed this identity in all municipal and agricultural projects by expanding green spaces, implementing the national afforestation plan, developing public parks, and strengthening municipal legislation that supports sustainable and inclusive growth.

The minister also emphasized the ministry’s dedication to developing national engineering competencies through specialized training and development programs, rooted in the belief that investing in human capital is the cornerstone of sustainable progress.

He concluded by stating that Bahraini engineers have consistently demonstrated excellence and professionalism across various disciplines, playing a significant role in the success of major national development initiatives.
