Bharathi Association to Host Grand Diwali Gala with Star Orator Dindigul I. Leoni in Bahrain

The Bharathi Association, in coordination with Starvision Events, is set to host a grand Diwali Celebration this year, featuring a renowned Tamil debate (Pattimandram) led by celebrated orator Dindigul I. Leoni.
The press meet announcing the details of the celebration was held at the Bharathi Association premises in Um Al Hassam. Association President Vallam Basheer presided over the meeting and welcomed media personnel. General Secretary Abdul Qaiyum detailed the festive plans, which aim to gather Indian families and the wider community to mark the Festival of Lights—the triumph of good over evil.
The Diwali Gala Celebration is scheduled for October 17 at the Golden Eagle Club Indoor Auditorium (formerly the Gulf Air Club) in Salmabad. The main highlight of the evening will be the Pattimandram, a traditional Tamil debate known for its cultural richness, sharp intellect, and humor. The lively session will be moderated by Dindigul I. Leoni, who is widely admired for his wit and satirical commentary. (Mr. Leoni is also the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation, appointed by the Tamil Nadu government.)
The debate will delve into the contentious topic: "Tamil Cinema: Are Old Films Superior to New Films?"
Two teams, featuring distinguished orators, will present opposing viewpoints in eloquent literary Tamil which will be headed by Kavingar Iniyavan and Professor Dr. Vijayakumar.
This Pattimandram is expected to be a three-hour marathon of engaging discussion and humor that promises to leave the audience thoroughly entertained.
The festive atmosphere will kick off with a vibrant traditional dance performance choreographed by Nrityakalaratna Hansul Gani. The performance will feature the talented children of the Association’s members, showcasing the richness of Tamil culture.
The Bharathi Association stated that the celebration is part of its ongoing mission to promote Indian culture, foster strong community bonds, and provide a platform for cultural exchange in Bahrain.
Entry to the event is free for all, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

General Secretary Subramanian Subash, Literary Secretary Elaiya Raja, Membership Secretary Sabeek Meeran, Asst. Treasurer Younus Abdul Samad, along with Event Coordinators Muthuvel Murugan and Babu Sundarraj, and Star Vision Events Chairman Sethuraj.
