Manama Celebrates McLaren’s Back-to-Back Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship Victory
In a historic sporting achievement, McLaren, owned by Mumtalakat, Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, has secured the 2025 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship, marking the team’s second consecutive title. The triumph was clinched following strong performances at the Singapore Grand Prix on the challenging Marina Bay Street Circuit, where McLaren drivers finished third and fourth.
British driver Lando Norris claimed the third spot, while Australian teammate Oscar Piastri crossed the line in fourth place, in a fiercely competitive night race renowned for its tight corners and technical demands.
With this result, McLaren extended its lead in the Constructors’ standings, adding 27 points in Singapore to reach a remarkable 650 points, 327 points ahead of their closest rivals, with six races still remaining in the 2025 season. On the drivers’ side, Oscar Piastri continues to lead the championship with 336 points, followed closely by Norris with 314 points, underscoring McLaren’s dominance this season.
This back-to-back championship win cements McLaren’s position as one of Bahrain’s premier sporting investments and reflects Mumtalakat’s ongoing commitment to supporting global sports while enhancing Bahrain’s visibility on the international sporting stage.
