His Majesty the King Awards US Naval Commander with Order of Bahrain
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today received Vice Admiral George Wikoff, Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command and the US Fifth Fleet, at Al Sakhir Palace, on the occasion of the completion of his tenure in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, His Majesty expressed Bahrain’s pride in its longstanding and deeply rooted friendship with the United States— a partnership built on mutual respect, shared values, and decades of close coordination.
His Majesty commended the steady progress of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of military and defense coordination, highlighting the pivotal role of the US administration in promoting regional security, stability, and international peace.
The discussions also touched on recent regional and global developments.
In recognition of Vice Admiral Wikoff’s distinguished service and his efforts in strengthening Bahrain-US defense ties, His Majesty the King graciously awarded him the Order of Bahrain (First Class).
Vice Admiral Wikoff expressed his sincere gratitude to His Majesty for the honour, and his deep appreciation for His Majesty’s leadership in reinforcing the strong strategic partnership and enduring friendship between the two nations.
