Bahrain’s Cabinet has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with Qatar, condemning the recent Israeli attack on Doha and backing the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit being held in the Qatari capital.

Chairing the weekly meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said Bahrain supports the summit, which was convened to discuss the aggression against Qatar.

The Cabinet stressed that Bahrain’s participation, through a delegation led by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to Arab and Islamic solidarity.

Ministers described the Israeli strike as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law. They extended condolences to Qatar’s leadership and people over the death of a member of its Internal Security Force, while reiterating full support for measures taken to protect the country’s security.

Regional diplomacy

The Cabinet also welcomed the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the New York Declaration on a two-state solution for Palestine, noting the roles of Saudi Arabia and France in advancing the resolution.

In addition, ministers highlighted the recent meeting between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, as an example of strengthened coordination amid regional developments. Other Cabinet items included welcoming the launch of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard’s solar energy project, commending Bahrain’s hosting of the Second Global Water, Energy and Climate Change Congress, and approving a memorandum on restructuring government agencies to improve performance.

But the central message from the Cabinet meeting was clear - Bahrain stands firmly with Qatar as the Doha summit convenes, voicing unity against aggression and underscoring shared regional security.
