Bahrain Post handles 132,819 parcels in Q2, July volumes down 3.7%

Bahrain Post processed 132,819 parcels in the second quarter of 2025, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.
The total comprised 114,819 inbound items and 18,000 outbound.
Sixty-eight companies are licensed to provide postal services in Bahrain, split evenly between 34 domestic operators and 34 international operators.
Service
By service, and for the period from May to July, Barid Mumtaz handled 7,912 parcels, including 1,517 outbound and 6,395 inbound.
Parcel Post handled 18,579 parcels, with 2,406 outbound and 16,173 inbound. Express Mail (Barid Mumtaz) recorded 29,534 parcels, of which 3,846 were outbound and 25,688 inbound.
Ordinary mail accounted for 76,792 parcels, comprising 10,231 outbound and 66,561 inbound. In July alone, total processing across outbound and inbound parcels reached 47,517, down 3.71 per cent from 49,279 in July 2024.

Barid Mumtaz registered 523 outbound parcels and 2,007 inbound, lower than July 2024’s 707 outbound and 2,725 inbound.
Parcel Post rose to 624 outbound and 1,921 inbound, up from 576 and 1,589 a year earlier. Express Mail increased to 2,171 outbound and 12,439 inbound, compared with 1,606 and 11,344 in July 2024.
Ordinary mail logged 4,515 outbound parcels and 23,317 inbound, against 3,403 outbound and 27,329 inbound in the same month last year.
App services
The ministry has also moved Bahrain Post’s app services to MyGov, the unified government services app.
It said the Bahrain Post app would no longer be available from 28 August 2025.
Bahrain Post forms part of Land Transport Affairs at the ministry, which oversees the provision and regulation of postal services, including universal service.
