Egypt Thanks HM the King
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of thanks from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in response to His Majesty’s congratulations on the anniversary of Egypt’s July 23 Revolution.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also received a cable of thanks from President El-Sisi for his congratulations on the occasion.
Bahrain Hosts Housing Summit
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain will host the second Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector from September 29 to October 3.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Eskan Bank in cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat, will bring together housing officials, specialists and private-sector representatives to exchange expertise and review developments in social housing.
Committee Reviews Projects
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the 314th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects.
The committee reviewed developments on the tender for a new package of works under the Bahrain International Airport Access Roads Development Project and plans to develop more than 2,500 integrated housing units in Khalifa City through the Government Land Development Rights Programme.
FM Meets Ugandan Envoy
Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met in Paris with Rukutana Rugunda, Special Envoy of the President of Uganda, and Olara Otunnu, Uganda’s candidate for the next term of United Nations Secretary-General.
Otunnu briefed Dr Al Zayani on his campaign programme. The minister wished him success and stressed the importance of the UN Secretary-General’s role in advancing international development, prosperity, security and peace.
