Public safety and swift response a top priority

His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate and Chairman of the Security Committee, has reaffirmed the governorate’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety, security coordination, and rapid response efforts.

This came as HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali chaired the seventh meeting of the Security Committee for 2025, held in the presence of Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor; Colonel Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Director-General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate; and senior officers from various Ministry of Interior security agencies.

The meeting focused on strengthening joint coordination to serve citizens and residents across the region.

At the outset, His Highness emphasised the strategic role of the Security Committee in implementing the directives of His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to bolster security and meet the evolving needs of the community.

Dedication

He commended the dedication and professionalism of all security agencies, highlighting their unified efforts in maintaining safety and public order throughout the governorate.

A comprehensive security report for the month of Muharram 1447 AH was presented by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate.

The report outlined the coordination plans undertaken during the religious season, with a focus on preparedness, deployment, and collaboration among agencies to ensure a secure environment during public gatherings and special occasions.

The meeting also featured a presentation from the General Directorate of Civil Defense detailing their efforts and operations throughout June.
