Isa Cultural Centre to pay homage to late author
Isa Cultural Centre is set to host a ceremony today to pay homage to author and journalist Khalid Al Bassem. The event, which will kick off at 7pm, will be held with the support of the Information Affairs Ministry and under the patronage of Al Ayam Publishing institution.
Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), the writers community, the Bahrain History and Archaeology Society, the Culture Association in Khubar and Poet Ali Sharqawi will be among the participants in the function.
Al Bassem family as well as the organising and sponsoring parties will also give speeches during the function.
Board Chairman of Al Ayam newspaper Nejib Al Hamer said late author Khalid Al Bassem was one of the founding members of the newspaper and a key contributor to it. “Therefore, Al Bassem will remain cherished throughout Bahrain’s history as one of the great historians,” Al Hamer added.
