30 companies fined for food price manipulation

Thirty businesses in Bahrain have been fined for price manipulation as the government tightens monitoring of food costs and reinforces a ban on unauthorised service charges.
The penalties follow stepped-up oversight by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which enforces regulations to prevent non-tourist restaurants from adding extra fees to bills.
The ministry said it had taken action as part of its efforts to track food prices and ensure compliance with pricing laws.
