HM King Hamad Visits Bahrain Defence Force on 57th Anniversary

In celebration of the 57th anniversary of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, paid a visit to one of the BDF facilities. The visit underscored the nation’s enduring commitment to strengthening its armed forces and recognising the pivotal role they play in safeguarding Bahrain's sovereignty and development.
During the visit, senior officials extended heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty on this national occasion. They expressed their deep appreciation for his unwavering support and strategic guidance, which have propelled the BDF’s progress and achievements.
His Majesty conveyed his appreciation for His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, for his steadfast dedication to supporting the BDF. He also expressed gratitude to Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, for his committed leadership in advancing the force’s operational capabilities.
Addressing the BDF personnel, His Majesty praised their unwavering commitment and honourable service both within Bahrain and in international missions. He also acknowledged the foundational contributions of those who played a vital role in establishing the BDF, lauding their dedication and service to the Kingdom.
Reflecting on Bahrain’s rich history, His Majesty paid tribute to the courageous individuals who have defended the nation since the era of Shaikh Ahmed Al Fateh, the country’s founder. He reaffirmed that their sacrifices will forever be remembered and honoured.
His Majesty highlighted the BDF’s evolution into a cornerstone of national strength. Beyond its primary duty of national defense, the BDF has made significant contributions to Bahrain’s development, including advancements in healthcare, social initiatives, and housing projects. The force has also supported Bahrain’s sporting successes and played a key role in organising international military events, such as the Bahrain International Airshow at Sakhir Air Base.
Commending the BDF’s role in regional and international cooperation, His Majesty noted its contributions to enhancing security, safeguarding vital trade routes, and maintaining stability. He stressed the importance of the BDF’s continued achievements, which inspire further development and growth.
The visit concluded with His Majesty reaffirming the Kingdom’s pride in its armed forces and their enduring commitment to both defense and national development. The occasion served as a testament to the BDF's legacy as a pillar of strength and progress for Bahrain.
