Bahrain Rugby Football Union Appoints New Board of Directors

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, has issued Decision No. (7) of 2025 regarding the appointment of the Board of Directors for the Bahrain Rugby Football Union.

The decision was made by the Law on Associations, Social and Cultural Clubs, and Private Entities Working in the Field of Youth and Sports, issued by Decree-Law No. (21) of 1989 and its amendments. It also considers the Unified Statute of Sports Federations issued by Decision No. (15) of 2014 and its amendments, as well as Decision No. (14) of 2021 concerning the registration of the Bahrain Rugby Football Union and Decision No. (23) of 2021 regarding the appointment of its previous board.

As per the new decision, the Bahrain Rugby Football Union's Board of Directors for the 2024-2028 term has been appointed, with Mr. Jean-Christophe François Abel Durand as President. The board members include:

The newly appointed board will oversee the development and governance of rugby football in Bahrain, ensuring the continued growth of the sport in alignment with the country's sports vision.
