A significant drop in crime rates has been reported in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with a remarkable 30% decrease over the past four years. This achievement, highlighted in the Ministry of Interior’s monthly security magazine "ِAl Amn", is attributed to a combination of effective policing strategies and a national commitment to peace and tolerance.
Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi, Director General of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Evidence, credited the success to proactive security plans implemented by the Kingdom’s security forces. In an interview with the magazine, he stressed the crucial role of these plans in combating crime and significantly reducing its prevalence.
Brigadier Al Rumaihi also lauded Bahrain’s progressive approach to countering extremism and fostering a culture of tolerance and peace, directly reflecting the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This commitment to national unity, he stressed, forms the bedrock of the Kingdom's security successes.
"The positive trend is underscored by impressive statistics. Over the past six years, authorities have successfully investigated and closed 5,995 cases related to drug use and 982 cases involving drug trafficking," he stated.
Beyond crime reduction, the Criminal Investigations and Forensic Evidence Directorate is also focused on enhancing its services for citizens and residents.
Brigadier Al Rumaihi explained that the directorate adheres to the highest technical standards, guided by the directives of the Minister of Interior and the oversight of the General Security Chief.
"The digital transformation of our services has been a game-changer," Al Rumaihi stated. "Collaborating with the Information and eGovernment Authority, we've moved applications for good conduct and employment certificates entirely online, resulting in faster processing times and greater convenience for the public," "This online system has significantly improved efficiency and accessibility.
Since January 2019 to November 2024, this initiative has facilitated the issuance of 211,305 good conduct certificates, 34,525 employment certificates, 2,245 licensing requests, and 12,006 commercial-registration-related requests," he stated.
