Khalid comes from behind to oust Neil NC

Manama : Mohammed Khalid recorded the most impressive result as he came from a set down to defeat Neil NC 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 in the first day of the Boys 14 years and under singles on the opening day of the 22nd Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) Juniors Open Tennis Championship 2017 yesterday at the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) premises in Juffair. 

In other first round matches played, Aboud Tartir was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Adam Karim, while Allesandro Bellanto defeated Sulaiman Al Gosaibi 6-1, 6-1, Mohammed Al Khan got the better of Amritansh Choudhary 6-0, 6-0 and Soham Shah received a walkover win from Devansh Sharma.

The Girls 18 years and under Singles also got underway with top seed Manni Zhang brushing aside Liya Savasman 6-0, 6-0 and second seed Aleina Alex easily winning 6-1, 6-0 against Auriene Mariot.

In the other two matches, Bahrain Federation Cup player Nazley Nader was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Bhavya Sabbineni and Sai Rama Balakrishnan won through 6-0, 6-0 against Ranem Ghattas.
