HRH Premier hails strong ties with India

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Minister of External Affairs and Overseas Indian Affairs Sushma Swaraj, currently on a visit to the kingdom to attend the first edition of the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-Indian Cooperation Forum, hosted by Bahrain.


She conveyed to HRH Premier greetings from Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their wishes of lasting progress and prosperity to Bahrain and its people.

HRH the Prime Minister affirmed the kingdom’s keen interest to enhance joint Bahraini-India rapprochement through creating more opportunities that boost economic and trade and activities and increase joint investments, highlighting the desire of the leaderships and governments of the two countries to revitalise economic activities.

He affirmed that exchanging visits of senior officials serve bilateral political, economic and trade relations, stressing the historical milestones in the Bahraini-Indian relations.

HRH Premier praised the steady growth of the Bahraini-Indian relations in various fields, noting that India’s outstanding economic development experience is a model to be emulated for countries seeking progress and prosperity.

The Prime Minister lauded the key role played by the Indian expatriate community in the kingdom’s development march, affirming the Bahraini people’s care and respect for those contributions.

He expressed hope that the coming period will witness more constructive and fruitful Bahraini-Indian cooperation at all levels, which, he said, will benefit the two countries and their friendly peoples.

The Indian minister expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for the warm welcome accorded to her, praising his interest in enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries.

She underlined her country’s keenness on developing bilateral cooperation in order to achieve joint interests.

She lauded the progress boom currently witnessed by the kingdom in all fields.
