US army begins withdrawing from Afghanistan

The American army began withdrawing from two bases in Afghanistan, today within the framework of implementing the agreement that the United States signed with the Taliban.
A US official said that the two bases are in the state of "Herat" in western Afghanistan and in "Lashkar Gah", the capital of southern Helmand province, which is largely controlled by the rebels.
The United States and the Taliban signed a peace agreement on February 29, stipulating a gradual reduction in the number of American forces from 12,000 to 8,600, in exchange for a number of security guarantees from the Taliban and its pledge to hold talks with the Kabul government.
