Man Arrested Over Death of British Woman Found In Suitcase

Athens: Greek authorities have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the death of a British woman whose body was discovered in a suitcase in Athens.
The victim, identified as 38-year-old Scottish national Elisabeth-Jane Ross, went missing in mid-July before her body was found in an abandoned building.
Police opened a criminal case against the suspect for intentional homicide, robbery, and firearms violations. Officials stated the man confessed to placing Ross in the suitcase, transporting her to the site, and using her bank cards to withdraw money. However, reports indicate the suspect claims the victim was already dead when he found her.
The breakthrough in the investigation relied on international cooperation, with US Interpol authorities assisting in matching fingerprints despite advanced decomposition. UK crime agencies and Scottish police also joined the probe, leading to the suspect’s eventual arrest in Athens
