Anti-Migrant Protest Held Outside Moroccan Embassy in Madrid

Madrid: Hundreds of anti-migrant demonstrators gathered outside Morocco's embassy in Madrid to protest the recent surge of migrant arrivals in Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta, with some participants displaying Nazi salutes and far-right symbols.
Protesters chanted nationalist and anti-immigration slogans, while some carried banners calling for ‘remigration’, a term used by several far-right groups in Europe to advocate the return of migrants or people of immigrant origin.
The demonstration followed a recent wave of migrant crossings into Ceuta. Local authorities in the enclave estimated that around 60,000 migrants had entered in recent days, although the Spanish government said most of those who crossed had already returned to Morocco.
Many demonstrators also criticised Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's government, accusing it of maintaining overly lenient immigration policies.
The migrant surge in Ceuta has intensified political debate in Spain and across Europe, with immigration once again emerging as a key issue in regional politics.
