Drone strike kills nine civilians in Sudan: medic

Khartoum: A local medical group said that nine civilians were killed in a drone strike in Sudan's western North Darfur province, the latest attack on civilians as the country's civil war continues.

According to reports, the strike targeted a civilian vehicle near the Sabreen market in Malha. Emergency Lawyers, a local rights group, accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out the attack, adding that many others were injured.

The RSF has not yet responded to the claim. Sudan has been at war since April 2023, with combat between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF causing one of the world's greatest humanitarian disasters. Drone assaults on populated areas have increased in recent months, prompting fears about rising civilian mortality.
