UAE Highlights Inclusive Policies for Persons with Disabilities

The United Arab Emirates has highlighted its commitment to advancing health equity and inclusion for persons with disabilities during a side event titled "Mapping the Next Phase to Enhance Health Equity for Persons with Disabilities."
During the event, the UAE showcased its integrated approach to empowering persons with disabilities through inclusive policies, community support initiatives and targeted programmes aimed at enhancing participation and quality of life.
Officials highlighted the country's Comprehensive Strategy for Persons with Disabilities, which seeks to strengthen inclusion across various sectors and ensure equal access to services and opportunities.
The UAE also presented its Early Intervention Program, designed to support children with disabilities by strengthening the role of families and communities in their development, care and empowerment.
Participants were briefed on the importance of collaborative efforts between government institutions, families and community organisations to create an inclusive environment that enables persons with disabilities to reach their full potential.
The UAE reaffirmed the need to translate commitments and policies into tangible outcomes that promote empowerment, participation and equal opportunities for all members of society, including women and girls with disabilities.
The presentation underscored the country's ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive and equitable society through sustainable policies and community-driven support systems.
