TOKYO: Japan's flagship H3 rocket successfully launched into space on Friday morning, successfully carrying a payload of six small satellites into orbit. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) verified the flight's initial stability during a live broadcast about six minutes post-liftoff, reporting that second-stage combustion, action control, and flight trajectory were all operating normally.

This successful deployment represents a crucial turnaround for JAXA, following a failed mission where an H3 rocket suffered an engine failure that prevented it from putting a geolocation satellite into orbit.

The scientific and commercial payloads on board feature cutting-edge technologies from prominent national academic institutions. Among the six small satellites is the Tokyo University of Science's ‘Umitsubame’ satellite, built to perform Earth observation and target tracking via a high-performance camera system.

The flight also carried Shizuoka University's ‘Shiraito’ satellite, an experimental spacecraft tasked with validating new orbital debris capture technology. By successfully completing these early milestones, the H3 launch restores momentum to Japan's aerospace sector and proves the reliability of its foundational flagship propulsion system.
