Naypyidaw: Myanmar’s President Min Aung Hlaing is set to conduct an official visit to China next week for high-level talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chinese foreign ministry confirmed the diplomatic mission on Friday, announcing that the state visit will span five days, running from June 15 to 19.
The primary driver of the upcoming bilateral summit is a shared interest in expanding regional economic activity. Min Aung Hlaing’s government has explicitly pledged to step up trade with China, making economic cooperation a central focus of the scheduled meetings.
By securing direct talks between the two heads of state, the visit highlights Myanmar’s strategic focus on reinforcing commercial ties with its powerful economic neighbor. The five-day itinerary reflects an organized effort by both administrations to solidify cross-border trade agreements and stabilize bilateral relations.
