Kuwait Airways to Resume 35 Flights as Airspace Reopens
Kuwait Airways has announced plans to operate 35 flights from Kuwait International Airport to a range of international destinations starting next week, following the reopening of the airport’s airspace.
Acting CEO Abdulwahab Al-Shatti said the initial destinations will include Beirut, Riyadh, London, Istanbul, Dhaka, Mumbai, Kochi, Colombo, Delhi, Manila, Cairo, Jeddah, and Trivandrum.
He outlined the flight schedule, noting that services to Cairo will run daily starting Sunday, while Beirut flights will operate twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from April 27. Riyadh services are set for Tuesdays and Fridays beginning April 28, while flights to Jeddah will run four times weekly. London will be served three times a week starting April 28.
Additional routes include one weekly flight to Colombo from April 27, Istanbul flights on Wednesdays from April 29, and Delhi services on Mondays from April 28. Kochi will have three weekly flights from April 27, while Manila flights will operate three times weekly starting the following day. Dhaka will be served four times a week from April 27, Mumbai twice weekly from April 28, and Trivandrum twice weekly from April 27.
Al-Shatti added that schedules for other destinations will be announced once official approvals are secured, affirming the airline’s readiness to operate with efficiency and flexibility while maintaining high standards of safety and service.
He also expressed appreciation to Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Sabah, President of Kuwait Civil Aviation, for his support, and praised Kuwait Airways staff and pilots for their professionalism and dedication in ensuring safe and reliable operations.
The move comes after Kuwait International Airport resumed operations last Thursday, following a temporary closure that had been in place since February 28 due to regional developments and Iranian attacks on Kuwait.
