Fil-Am Bahrain Wins PBvL Volleyball Championship

The Filipino American Association of Bahrain (Fil-Am Bahrain) won the championship title at the Philippine Bahrain Volleyball League (PBvL) One-Night Volleyball League, defeating MATES, formerly known as Dabarkadz, in the final.

The tournament was held on August 26 and 27 at A’ali Gym in Isa Town, with eight teams competing for the title. Team Gilas finished third after a series of competitive matches.

Fil-Am Bahrain manager Grace Estacio said the victory reflected the team’s hard work, commitment, trust and teamwork. She said the players entered the court as “one team, one family, and one Fil-Am”, adding that their support for one another helped them overcome the challenges of each match.

RB “Bryce” Torres captained the championship-winning team and was named Best Setter, while AJ Verzosa was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) and selected to the Mythical Six.

The championship squad also featured Madelyn Despi, Jocelyn Pinuela, CJ Suarez, Joy Ilag and Khaycee Pinuela.

The tournament was organised by Rose Rafer, bringing together Filipino players to compete while strengthening friendship and community ties. For Fil-Am Bahrain, the championship highlighted the role of volleyball in bringing Filipinos together and fostering camaraderie in Bahrain.
