Qatar Calendar announces Virtuocity Battle Ground Qatar 2026

Month-long esports championship to feature seven global gaming titles and a USD 200,000 prize pool

Qatar Calendar has announced the return of Virtuocity Battle Ground (VBG) Qatar 2026, a month-long multi-title esports championship scheduled to take place from September 1 to 30 at Virtuocity, Doha Festival City.

The tournament will bring together gamers, content creators and esports fans from Qatar, the region and beyond, with competitions spanning seven internationally recognised gaming titles.

Presented by Qatar Calendar and powered by Ooredoo Nation, the championship is supported by Al Kass Sports Channel as the media partner, with the Qatar Esports Federation and Snoonu City serving as major sponsors.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, VBG Qatar 2026 will offer a total prize pool of USD 200,000 across VALORANT, Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), EA Sports FC 26, Tekken 8 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The championship will feature online qualifiers, LAN qualifiers and live Grand Finals across multiple gaming platforms.

The event is also expected to contribute to Qatar’s growing esports and digital entertainment landscape by providing a platform for players, creators and fans to engage through competitive gaming.

As part of the wider Qatar Calendar events presented by Visit Qatar, the championship will also highlight the country’s growing capacity to host major technology-driven and international entertainment events.

Ahmed Al-Binali, Director of Festivals and Events at Visit Qatar, said the return of Virtuocity Battle Ground for its second edition reflects the growing popularity of esports and the championship’s success in bringing gaming communities together.

He said the event, held as part of the Hala Summer 2026 programme, adds to Qatar’s summer entertainment offering while strengthening the country’s position as a destination for major international events.

Ali Bin Mohammed Al Attiya, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board at Leisure, said the organisers were pleased to partner with Visit Qatar to bring the championship back for a second edition.

He said this year’s event would provide players, creators and fans from across the region with an opportunity to come together and experience competitive gaming, while supporting the continued development of Qatar’s esports ecosystem.

The organisers said VBG Qatar 2026 would build on the previous edition by creating experiences centred on gaming, innovation and digital culture.

The championship will run throughout September at Virtuocity, Doha Festival City, with further details on competition schedules and participation expected from the organisers.
