Three soldiers killed in tank explosion during Japan military exercise

Tokyo: Three Japanese soldiers were killed and another injured after an explosion occurred inside a tank during a military training exercise in the southwestern Oita region, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said. The incident took place at a Japan Self-Defence Forces training ground when the tank’s ammunition reportedly misfired inside the vehicle.
Authorities said the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. The prime minister expressed her condolences, calling the incident “truly regrettable” and offering heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims.
