UAE Dismantles Terror Cell Planning Sabotage

UAE security authorities dismantled a terrorist organisation accused of planning systematic sabotage operations inside the country.

Investigations revealed the group held secret meetings both within the UAE and abroad, while attempting to recruit young Emiratis by spreading misleading ideas aimed at securing foreign allegiances. The organisation was also accused of inciting against UAE foreign and domestic policies by portraying the state negatively.

Security reports further stated that the group collected funds through unofficial channels and transferred them to suspicious external entities. It is also charged with establishing a covert structure, pledging loyalty to foreign powers, and undermining national unity and social stability.

Authorities said recruitment activities were carried out through secret meetings coordinated with external actors, targeting sensitive locations inside the country.

The State Security Department also linked the organisation to Iran’s “Wilayat al-Faqih” system, a political-religious doctrine established after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions. The UAE has previously reported intercepting hundreds of missiles and drones during recent escalations, while also confirming earlier dismantling operations against networks allegedly linked to Hezbollah and Iran.
