Tensions are rising around the Strait of Hormuz as conflicting statements from Iran and the United States create uncertainty over global shipping security.

Iran’s military has warned it may close the strait if the US continues its blockade of Iranian ports. However, Iran’s foreign minister says the waterway remains open for commercial traffic during the ceasefire.

A tanker in the area has reportedly come under fire from Iranian gunboats, raising safety concerns.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said the strait is “open and ready for business,” but confirmed the US blockade will remain until a peace deal is reached.

Shipping data shows tankers are still passing through the strait despite tensions.

Trump also claimed Iran agreed to key conditions, including removing enriched uranium, but Iranian officials deny this.

The situation remains unclear and continues to evolve.
