Russia Launches Deadly Overnight Strikes, Ukraine Reports 16 Killed

Kyiv: Russia launched a large wave of drone and missile attacks across Ukraine overnight, killing at least 16 people and injuring around 100, Ukrainian officials said.
Heavy strikes hit several cities, including Odesa, where eight people were killed. In the capital Kyiv, rescuers pulled a mother and child from the rubble of a collapsed residential building, while several others, including emergency workers, were injured.
In the central city of Dnipro, three people were killed and dozens wounded, with buildings seen on fire. Attacks were also reported in Kharkiv, injuring civilians.
In southern regions, power outages were reported in Mykolaiv and Kherson.
Across the border in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai region, two children were killed in a Ukrainian drone strike, according to local authorities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said nearly 700 drones and multiple missiles were launched during the night, with hundreds intercepted by air defences.
The attacks came just days after a brief Easter ceasefire, with both sides accusing each other of violations.
