ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Islamabad will host high-level delegations from the United States and Iran this Friday, April 10. The landmark talks aim to negotiate a definitive peace agreement following a recently brokered two-week ceasefire.
The breakthrough comes after intensified mediation by Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and China to de-escalate a widening regional conflict that recently saw direct strikes between Israel, the U.S., and Iran. Prime Minister Sharif confirmed that both Tehran and Washington have agreed to a temporary halt in military operations across all theaters, including Lebanon.
Acting as a strategic communication channel, Pakistan has leveraged its unique diplomatic ties with both the Trump administration and neighboring Iran to facilitate these meetings. The world now watches as Friday’s negotiations represent the most significant opportunity yet for lasting regional stability.
