ABU DHABI: Authorities in Fujairah have confirmed the death of a Bangladeshi national following a drone interception over the emirate on Wednesday. The Fujairah Government Media Office reported that UAE air defence systems successfully neutralised an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), but falling debris struck a farm in the Al-Rifa’a area, leading to the fatal incident.

Emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the site to secure the perimeter and ensure the safety of the surrounding community. In response to the incident, officials have urged the public to remain calm and rely strictly on information provided by official government channels. They cautioned that the spread of unverified reports and rumours on social media could cause unnecessary panic and hinder the work of emergency services.

Security forces and local authorities remain at the scene to monitor the situation and conduct further investigations. The government reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and the continued vigilance of the nation's air defence networks during the ongoing regional tensions.
