FBI: Michigan Synagogue Attack Linked to Hezbollah Inspiration

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has described a recent हमला on a synagogue in West Bloomfield as a “Hezbollah-inspired act of terrorism” deliberately targeting the Jewish community.

The incident occurred on March 12, when Ayman Ghazali, a naturalized US citizen originally from Lebanon, drove a pickup truck into the synagogue while more than 100 children were inside attending school activities.

According to officials, Ghazali had been waiting in the synagogue’s parking lot for over two hours before carrying out the हमला. He then accelerated the vehicle into the building, striking a security officer before the truck became lodged inside a hallway.

Security personnel at the synagogue responded by exchanging gunfire with the attacker. Ghazali ultimately shot himself inside the vehicle during the confrontation.

Authorities said the situation escalated further when the truck’s engine compartment caught fire, causing significant structural damage. Investigators later confirmed that the vehicle contained explosives and flammable liquids, believed to be gasoline.

No fatalities were reported apart from the attacker. However, one senior security officer sustained injuries after being struck by the vehicle.

In the aftermath, US officials revealed that Ghazali had previously appeared in federal databases due to connections with individuals linked to Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group designated as a terrorist organization by the United States.
