Iran tells UK that providing British bases for US is 'aggression'

TEHRAN: Iran has warned the UK that allowing the US to use British military bases will be considered "participation in aggression", according to the Iranian foreign ministry today.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi delivered the warning during a phone call with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. Mr. Araghchi said any assistance provided by the UK to the US would lead to "an escalation of the situation".
The minister accused the UK and other European nations of a "biased approach" towards what he described as "blatant aggression" from the US and Israel.
Mr. Araghchi also criticised the UK for failing to condemn Israeli strikes on Iran's South Pars gas fields.
The UK government has not yet issued a formal response regarding the discussion.
